Why lingerie sizing in India is confusing (and how to fix it)
Indian lingerie sizing mixes two systems. Everyday bras use international band-plus-cup sizing (28 to 44 band, A to F cup). Babydolls, chemises, sets, bodysuits and bodystockings use letter sizing (XS to 5XL) based on bust, waist and hip. A woman who wears 34C might be an M in one brand's babydoll and an L in another's underwired set, because letter sizes are graded on the garment, not the body. Fix: measure once (underbust, bust, waist, hip), keep the four numbers in your phone, and read each listing's size line before ordering.
Bra sizing: band + cup
Measure snugly under the bust for the band. Measure loosely around the fullest part for the bust. The difference gives the cup. Reference table (unchanged from our standing guide):

Plus size lingerie: L to 5XL
Three routes. One-size stretch pieces (bodystockings, many bodysuits) fit to 5XL at ₹299–₹549. Sized sets to 3XL (Shayari, Nazaakat). Free size: what it actually means
"Free size" on Sinderella means a stretch fabric with a printed upper limit: "One size, stretches to 5XL", "to 3XL", "to XL". It is not a promise that one piece fits every body; read the limit. A fishnet bodystocking marked 5XL fits from S to 5XL because the grid opens; a lace bodysuit marked XL stops at XL.
Buying for her without asking

How to measure at home in two minutes
- Underbust: tape snug around the ribcage directly under the bust, breathe out. This is the band.
- Bust: tape loose around the fullest point, standing straight, no padded bra.
- Waist: the narrowest point, usually just above the navel, tape relaxed.
- Hip: the widest point around the seat, feet together.

Size by fabric: why the same letter fits differently
Letter sizes describe the body the piece was cut for, but fabric decides how much room there is around that body. Fishnet and open mesh stretch the most; a "one size to 5XL" is honest because the grid opens. Stretch lace and fine mesh give a size either way; if you are between M and L in a lace bralette set, either works. Satin has almost no stretch; size exactly, and size up on a satin romper if the hip is at the top of the range. Underwired pieces are fixed at the wire; the cup must match. Faux leather and corsets are the least forgiving; measure the waist and follow the listing to the inch. What lingerie size is 34B?
Usually M in bralette and babydoll sets, M or L in underwired sets. Confirm with the size calculator and the listing's size line.
Is XL in lingerie the same as XL in a kurta?
No. Lingerie XL is graded on bust and hip (roughly 38–40" bust, 43–45" hip on our chart). Use measurements, not your kurta size.
