Discreet Packaging — Your Secret is Safe | Sinderella
Living with family? In a hostel? Sharing a flat? Relax.
We built Sinderella knowing who our customers really are — 75% of our orders go to partners shopping for surprise gifts, 25% to women buying for themselves. For both, there is one anxiety that matters more than price, fit, or fabric: what if someone in my house sees the package? This page is our answer.
What arrives at your door
Your order ships in a plain pink sealed pouch. No product images printed on the outside. No brand logo announcing what’s inside. No see-through windows. No “Lingerie” wording. No descriptive product names. Just a neutral-looking parcel that could be any fashion delivery.
The shipping label is deliberately minimal. It reads:
- ✅ a generic apparel-company descriptor — a generic-sounding apparel company name (chosen precisely because it communicates nothing about the contents)
- ✅ A numeric SKU code like SA-2031-M — internal reference, means nothing to anyone except our warehouse
- ✅ Your name and address, as required by the courier
- ❌ No product name. No category name. No “lingerie”, no “intimate”, no “adult”, no “gift”
- ❌ No price (couriers don’t need it on the label)
- ❌ No social-media handles or website URL on the pouch exterior
Your delivery person, your roommate, your mom picking up your courier — kisi ko pata nahi chalega. We’ve shipped more than 2,00,000 orders like this across every state in India. Not one secret spilled, and we take that track record seriously.
Inside the pouch: hygiene-sealed, untouched
Every single piece is individually hygiene-sealed in its own transparent factory wrap before it ever enters our Mumbai warehouse. Quality check happens through the wrap; we never break the seal. When you open your order, you are the first and only person to touch the fabric since it left the tailor.
This matters for two reasons:
- Hygiene. Intimates are skin-adjacent garments. Zero-contact sealing is not a luxury feature; it is the minimum acceptable standard and we treat it that way.
- Returns. If you want to return something unused, the unbroken hygiene seal is the proof — both for you and for us — that the item is in unworn condition.
COD orders: inspect the outer pouch at the door
If you pay Cash on Delivery (we offer COD across 21,000+ pincodes), you can open the outer pouch at the door before paying. Check that the SKU matches your order confirmation, that the hygiene seal inside is intact, and that the sizes look right. Only then hand over cash. If anything looks off, refuse the delivery and we handle the return without asking questions.
How the invoice reads
The internal invoice folded inside the pouch is as neutral as the label. Line items read “apparel item” with the same SKU code — never the product title. GST is calculated correctly (we are a properly registered Indian company) but the description line stays discreet. If you need a detailed invoice for work reimbursement or anything else, message Maya on WhatsApp (+91 90823 01197) and we’ll email you a full-breakdown invoice separately, never bundled with the shipment.
Our shipping partners
We ship with BlueDart, Delhivery, DTDC, Shadowfax and India Post. Every partner gets the same pouch. None of them sees what’s inside; none of them opens packages in transit. If a customer complains that a courier rep asked questions about the contents, we escalate that within 24 hours and switch the pincode off that partner. This has happened four times in five years. We take it that seriously.
Frequently asked questions
Is there any giveaway on the outside of the pouch?
No. The pouch is a single colour (pink, sometimes swapped for a neutral tan during stock rotation), completely opaque, no printed designs, no see-through panels. The only text on the outside is the shipping label.
What if I live with very conservative parents and they intercept the courier?
They will see “a generic apparel-company descriptor” — which reads as a clothing company — and an SKU number that reveals nothing. If they ask what the package is, it is honestly apparel. If you want extra cover, tell the courier to call before delivery (you can set this preference on our checkout). Many of our customers do this routinely and we dispatch strictly to the phone number on file.
Can I have it delivered to a different address?
Yes. You can ship to any address in India — office, friend’s place, a trusted pickup point. You can also opt for “pick up at DTDC branch” at checkout for any pincode where it’s available. No extra charge.
What does the SKU code actually mean?
It’s a warehouse-only lookup: two letters (SA for a neutral apparel-company name), a four-digit product ID, and a size suffix. SA-2031-M means “product 2031, size Medium”. Nobody outside our fulfillment team knows what 2031 refers to. We intentionally did not encode the category into the SKU.
What if the pouch is damaged in transit?
Take a photo at the door. WhatsApp Maya (+91 90823 01197). We reship same day, free of cost. The hygiene seal inside the pouch is usually intact even when the outer pouch is scuffed, so you can still use the item if you choose.
Do you ship to P.O. boxes or parcel lockers?
Yes for most major cities. We support pickup-at-branch with BlueDart and DTDC, and smart locker delivery in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune and Chennai. Choose “Secure pickup” at checkout and we’ll route it to the nearest available locker.
Why we care this much
India is not the United States. The social cost of a mis-labeled intimate-wear delivery is not “a laugh at the dinner table” — it can be genuinely hostile for the recipient, especially women living in joint-family setups, hostels, or small towns. We started Sinderella in 2019 in Mumbai because we wanted our customers to feel safe — not just fashionable. Every decision we make about packaging flows from that.
If our packaging ever fails you, we treat it as a top-priority incident. Message Maya on WhatsApp, call us on +91 90823 01197, or email care@sinderella.in and a founder-level response follows within hours.
